Brian Knoop is entering his thirty-sixth year in education this year, having spent thirty-one years as a classroom teacher and coach at Nashville area schools such as Christ The King, St. Bernard Academy High School, University School of Nashville, St. Bernard Junior High, Overbrook and Pope John Paul II High School. He has also served as Principal of St. Edward School for four years and Director of Admissions at Father Ryan High School for one year.
Brian and his wife Teresa have been married for thirty-seven years and have been blessed with two beautiful children, Lauren, a 2015 Graduate of Belmont University and Christopher, who was called home by God in August of 2004 at the age of thirteen.
In addition to receiving his Bachelor’s Degree from Murray State University, Brian also has a Master’s Degree in Administration and Supervision from Tennessee State University. He enjoys spending time during the summer at professional development institutes and has been fortunate to study at The University of Michigan, Harvard, Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), The Air Force Academy, University of Hawaii at Hilo, University of Washington, The National Weather Service Training Center and the Teacher in the Field Program where he participated in climate change research at the Arctic Circle. Brian has also worked with the National Institute of Health in creating and field testing a curriculum for Middle School Students on Mental Health.
