Renee Thompson

Music Teacher

Renee Thompson was born and raised in Manhattan, Kansas and attended Catholic School for most of her elementary and high school years. She has been a church musician her entire life, even in middle school where she played at mass twice a weekend and accompanied the adult choir at church. While attending Wichita State, Renee worked for the Baptist church, playing and directing choirs.

Prior to coming to Saint Edward, Renee worked at Oak Hill School in Nashville, St. James School in Liberty, MO and was director of music and liturgy for several Catholic churches in the Kansas area.

Renee met her husband Tim in Dallas, TX and has been married for 25 years. They have three children: MacKenzie who is finishing her degree in Public Relations at the University of North Texas, Tyler, a sophomore in college and Preston, a sophomore at Father Ryan. The Thompsons own a cleaning company, Music City Maids, run by Tim.

Renee is passionate about music and liturgy and hopes to pass on this excitement to the children of St. Edward.
