Dear St. Edward Alumni,
I pray this message finds you well during this blessed Advent season. As the current principal of St. Edward School, it is my privilege to officially introduce myself to our alumni community and share some of the exciting developments taking place at our school.
St. Edward's history is deeply rooted in tradition and community, values that remain at the heart of everything we do. Although I moved to Nashville as an adult with no prior ties to St. Edward, I have been blessed to be part of this remarkable community for the past 13 years—first as a parent, and now as principal. My family has come to cherish all that this wonderful church and school offer, and two of my children are proud St. Edward alumni.
Over the past decade, both St. Edward Church and School have seen significant changes, but we continue to thrive as a leader in Catholic education for families across the city. We are proud to share that our enrollment is at its highest level in five years, and the vibrancy of our church ministries reflects the spirit of our community.

St. Edward School Principal
Since Father Bulso and I arrived at St. Edward five years ago, we’ve worked diligently to honor our rich history while embracing opportunities for growth. In the school, we’ve introduced new academic curricula, provided top-tier professional development for our staff, and enhanced our technology and digital citizenship programs to ensure our students are well-prepared for their futures. Above all, we have remained steadfast in prioritizing our Catholic identity. Our students engage in daily Religion classes, attend Mass 2-3 times per week, pray the Rosary during Adoration each first Friday of the month, and actively participate in service projects to help those in need.
Our campus has also seen substantial improvements. We’ve strengthened security with new fencing, gates, exterior lighting, and additional security cameras. Last year, we upgraded our Science lab with new furniture and technology to create a cutting-edge STEM space. This past summer, we completed renovations on four of our oldest bathrooms, and we are now focused on enhancing our gymnasium.
As we look to the future, we remain committed to excellence in all we do. Our goal is to build a community that cherishes our Faith, honors our traditions, and nurtures students who view the world through the lens of Truth, Beauty, and Goodness. If you’re considering a Catholic education for your children or grandchildren, we invite you to visit us and experience firsthand the amazing things happening here at St. Edward Church and School. We would be honored to partner with you in shaping the next generation of Saints and Scholars.
With gratitude and blessings,
Susan Blankenship
