Colleen Crowe was born and raised in Poland, a small town in Ohio just outside of Youngstown. She attended Youngstown State University and began her career in Cincinnati as an elementary special education teacher, a role that allowed her to pursue her passion for teaching students with disabilities. Colleen moved to Nashville 20 years ago and continued her work in elementary special education with MNPS.
This is Colleen's fifth school year at St. Edward and her 26th year in education. She is in her second year as the kindergarten teacher and also tutors and teaches Lego Club after school. She is currently furthering her education through online studies at Grand Canyon University. Colleen believes teaching is a gift from God and finds great joy in her work.
She enjoys baking, cooking, dancing, reading, walking, traveling, and spending time with friends and family. Growing up in a large Irish/Italian Catholic family, her faith has always been central to her life. Transitioning to St. Edward from public school felt natural, as it reminded her of the faith-filled environment she grew up with. Being able to bring God into the classroom is one of the things she treasures most about teaching at SES. She feels blessed to be part of the St. Edward community — "Once a Saint, always a Saint!"
