Art

Ever since I was a little girl art has been a part of my life.  I was always sketching, doodling, painting, or finding some sort of arts and crafts to get into.  I was inspired to pursue a career in teaching art by an amazing high school art teacher who showed up everyday enthusiastic and passionate to give her students the freedom to explore and create.

I grew up in Fairfield, Ohio and attended Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio where I got my bachelor’s degree in art, with an emphasis in painting and drawing, as well as a minor in Professional Art Education (K-12).  After graduation, I moved to Nashville, got married, and taught preschool and art for St. Pius X School for a year.  Then, I accepted an art teaching job at St. Cecilia Academy where I taught freshman art, 35mm photography, digital photography, advanced art, and AP Art History.  After 7 years I decided to take a break to be at home with my girls.  I have continued to stay involved in teaching art by teaching for a homeschool co-op, St. Thomas More Schola, since 2014.  Each summer I return to St. Cecilia to teach art camps.

My husband and I have 3 girls who attend St. Edward School and we are St. Edward parishioners.  Since our oldest daughter started school at St. Edward in 2016 I have discovered a love for our St. Edward community.  I have enjoyed volunteering in the classrooms and cafeteria, serving on the Home and School Board, substitute teaching, and even painting murals.  I am so excited and honored to be a part of the Faculty this year.  I am so excited to share my passion and excitement for creating art with all the students of St. Edward School.
